Here is the answer, a time delay relay. This relay fits most common single beam HID wiring harnesses for an easy fix to prevent HID from starting before cranking the engine. Avoid those pesky ignition errors, flickering/fluttering HID, and needless wear and tear on ballasts.
Relays are contact rated at 30A @ 13.5 VDC, and sealed for waterproof operation
These are direct replacement for all Retro-Solutions single beam harnesses listed below:
- H1, H3, H4 low beam, H7, H8, H9, H10, H11, 9005, 9006, 9140, 9145, 800 series, and 5202
- Other applications or harnesses should be checked for polarity before using relay
Specifications:
- 10 second delay on
- instant off with power off
- 30A rated contact
- 9 to 16 VDC coil
- 85/86 pins for "on" trigger are not polarity dependent
- built-in capacitance across 85/86 pins
Application Notes:
- many motorcycle applications and some specific vehicle applications may require capacitance for proper relay function, this newest version includes built-in capacitance to provide function for pulsed voltage systems common to newer passenger vehicles and stator driven electrical systems common to motorcycles and ATVs.
