Owl Collection Mixed Lot
I acquired this lot of owls from the Florida estate of a long time owl collector. I am listing and have sold many very rare pieces from this estate. Offered here is some of the jewelry that she had, ranging in age and origin. There are two pieces from Denmark and one from Sweden, a few from Mexico, USA, etc. Many of the pieces are marked, as shown in the last two photos. Note that I added a turquoise owl pin that had fallen off the table. there are many sterling items and I believe that the turquoise eye money clip and the las photo missed pin were Native American made and often did not mark for sterling content. There is an interesting hallmark on one of the Taxco pendants that resembles a snake.
Too me, the stand out piece is the antique Victorian owl family. It is very rare; You will not find another example offered on line. I have no idea what it was used for; Maybe some kind of buckle or clip. The detail is just amazing!
This lot consists of numerous items, most of which I would consider, in good condition with minimal vintage wear. The pendant watch is not ticking. The multi owl necklace needs clasp repair. One set of earrings missing a post and at top left under bust, a few single items for crafting. The Victorian owl couple with baby has beautiful rainbow patina, but will most likely clean up well with a clean & polish. I believe that all else is wearable.
