This vintage original 1940s era Made In Italy Chalkware Plaster Hand Painted 21 Piece Christmas Creche Nativity Set needs major repairs on some figures and touch-up paint on virtually all . All pieces are intact & include a 10" tall Camel , a 4" Baby Jesus Christ , 7" Virgin Mary , Joseph , Trumpeter , Kneeling Shepherd & Kneeling King , two 9" Kings , two 9" Shepherds , 6" Cow & Donkey , 8" Hanging Angel Holding Banner Which Reads " Gloria In Excelsis Deo ", 6 Different 3" Sheep along with a beautiful 6" manger w/original hay . Also included as a bonus include a 5" Camel , a 4" Donkey , an 11" 2006 Enesco Jim Shore Design Heartwood Creek " Blessed Family " Chalkware Statue in EXMT condition , an 8" x 3" Nino Jesus De Cuna Modelo Exclusivo Tierra Santa Ceramic Baby Jesus & 2" Baby Jesus in swaddling clothes , a 1970 lesser condition 4 piece Empire Plastics Blow Mold Illuminated Outdoor Yard Nativity Scene w/18" Virgin Mary & Joseph , 10" Infant Jesus & 12" Crib . The highlight of this grouping is a 33" high x 22" long x 23" wide hand made oak wood barn which built by my Grandfather (ironically a carpenter by trade) in the early 1950s . In spite of it's immense size it has held together well over the last 60+ years & can stand solidly on it's own but could probably use a few small nails here & there for reinforcement at your discretion . Has rails all around to keep figures in tight , a window cut-out in the back so the camel can peek in if desired & a hay loft on the opposite side of the back wall .
The barn and loft are full of old hay .
I'm throwing in plenty of cotton for snow , a 1940s era box of pink Paper Novelty Doubl-Glo Angel-Hair Spun Glass & a 1950s era partial box of five Penn Wax Works Angelite Candles . Beautiful old figures , manger & barn have given my family much joy for many Holiday Seasons !
